We have lots of wood pigeons in our garden who generate a lot of poo :) That in itself is not a problem but they eat the berries on our laurel tree and the purple poo has left loads of stains on our (sandstone) patio. We've tried pressure washing and scrubbing with a brush but it's not budging. I'd prefer not to use any chemicals but it looks like I will have to use something more than water. Any suggestions of what might be best to use that won't harm plants and wildlife?

Following this . Wood pigeons use our ariel as a perch and poop purple poo after eating elderberries onto our sandstone path at the side of the house.
I've resorted to putting a sheet of plastic under it for now Especially in purple poo season.

I would initially try scrubbing with an a washing powder or liquid containing enzymes, leave for a few hours and then wash off.
If that doesn't work a dilute bleach solution might.

Wood pigeons all over the place around here so it's a constant annoyance.
I've found that they do stain, but the stain eventually vanishes of its on accord.
I get loads on the tumbled paviours I used under the arbour, on my patio, the paving around the greenhouse and on the drive, but it all vanishes - eventually

The poo itself is ok, it’s the purple stains left behind

From my experience, as I said previously, after a few months the purple stains vanish completely.
Maybe your paving is different to mine.
I hope you manage to find an answer.
