just got the use of a free greenhouse yesterday and currently in the process of giving it a good clean. I have just covered the glass with jeyes glass cleaner. How long should i keep it on for? i'm sure i read on here yesterday that leaving it for 2 days would be really benefit it. do i need to leave it on as long as this?

Hi, Well I have not used that before I use armillatox & I put it on the difficult spots first, but I have always found that by the time I have then treated the rest of the greenhouses it is time to get it all washed off & it takes the grime & bugs etc with it.. I suppose it is on there a couple of hrs...

I would say so Mister P.. Then leave it open to dry as much as possible, if you have a good breeze like we do it won't take long... :hehe:

took your advice and went out and cleaned it and it worked magic. If a breeze is handy for getting it done quicker i could've left it for 30 seconds..I'm in the Highlands lol thanks for the advice. though i have has my first little disaster. while cleaning the glass slots, i dropped one arrgg lol

I can't see why not. I usually use Jeyes on mine (it has a concrete floor),but have also used bleach. I've often used bleach for cleaning plastic pots and trays and I also use a dilute solution for dunking begonia tubers before drying for winter storage.

As far as I recollect the active chemical in most domestic bleaches is sodium hypochlorate and this will turn into sodium chloride (salt) in the soil. So providing you don't saturate the soil you should be fine.
