I still have the Amatueur Gardening Magazine dated 15th June 2002 with a photo of a clematis in a hanging basket.

I never got round to doing this wondered if anyone has ,think I may give it ago this yr.

Think would be better with a nice compact clematis.

I think I might have that copy too.

I always thought that Clematis should be planted in the ground as that is what their roots prefer?

It would look lovely in a hanging basket though so let us know how you get on ;)

I will Gillypetunia I also thought clematis in a wrought iron window container might be nice and effective to.

A lot of my new planted Clematises are sprouting into growth so I got out the Taylors catalogue to remind me of what I had planted...(old age thing)they do recommend a couple of varieties that do well in pots...suppose basket is a sortofapot!
Sieboldii white with a lilacy rose bit in the middle....Comtesse de Bouchaud a showy pink.there is quite a comprhensive list but were you to email them I am sure they would recommend some thing suitable.www.taylorsclematis.co.uk.
    Good Luck.
