    Hello all

    I hope you are well.

I had to get someone in to help me with the Garden due to it being a touch too much for me at this Time

Mainly to Help with the Weeding and Pruning.

    Everything was going well, until.....

I asked them to Cut Back the Clematis Montana 'Mayleen' which had become a tangled mess and Top Heavy.

I had to leave for a few Hours so they were left alone.

When I came back Home, the Clematis Montana 'Mayleen' had been Cut Back to just above the Soil Level :wallbanging:

Needless to say, they were Dismissed

Thankfully, the Jobs left to do are minor which I should be able to handle, hopefully,

Will the Clematis Montana 'Mayleen' regrow from the Base or is it Lost?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

It will come back, but won't flower this year. Montanas are almost indestructible.

I am no clematis expert, but I would certainly give it a chance to regrow.
Last year I had a new fence put in and lost all the growth on two clematis and thought they were gone. Fence was put in in spring and they both grew back from underground and by summer the new fence was covered in blooms.

    Hello

    Thanks for the Replies.

It is a relief to know that it will Grow back, I was worried that it was lost.

I Hate getting People in to Help with Jobs, they usually cause more issues than they solve :wallbanging:

Is there anything that I need to do to encourage it?

I have Sprinkled some BF&B around it and will keep it Watered, is that enough?

    Thanks

    Kevin

A good mulch would be useful.

    Hello

    Thanks for the Reply.

I do not have any Mulch to Hand but I will see what I can do.

Any ideas, realistically, as to when I can expect to see New Growth from the Base?

How Long is a Piece of String Question, I know :)

    Thanks

    Kevin
