    Many yrs ago I grew clematis in hanging baskets .

    Has anyoen else tried this .

    There is an offer with Unwins in Sunday paper today for hanging basket clematis.

    Not tried Clematis in hanging baskets, Scotcat. I should imagine that they would need a lot of attention i.e: feeding and watering. I believe on of the practices in the old days at Sissinghurst was to have them draping out of big Ali Baba pots...which is the same principle.:snork:

    I've grown "herbaceous Clematis" (if that is the right term) in urns such that they trailed downwards. (variety was Clematis tangutica, grown from seed)

    Armandii they did not need any more attention and grow fine.

    That's was I meen Kristen I have had in tall containers not urns.

    And they look great.

    its good to experiment with any plant.
