Dont know LoL but it looks a nice plant.
The leaves without the flowers look like Fiejoa, but its not that.

    Presume its evergreen.

    Hi pete :)

Found it but would never have guessed in a million years .....

    http://www.bihrmann.com/rikke/subs/CLE-uga-sub.asp

I didn't bring a cutting home ..... stupid me but there's always another time.

I did bring home an Echium candicans cutting which looks almost dead now  any advice ????? ..... and three Madeiran trailing cherry tomato plants which Stu (the landscape gardener / owns garden centre / preacher man friend) brought back from Madeira last year. Have potted them up, they are incredibly massive and beautifully tasting and have been fruiting all winter without any care and attention. :thumb:

No would not have come up with that one, I dont think.

I could never get candicans to root, hence I dont have one anymore.

That is odd, Sis. I saw the same plant in the zoo in Tampa and took some pics. I saw your mail, uploaded one of my pics - and then got distracted so never posted it. Here it is now.

Likewise I have a pic of this from Tenerife (about 8ft high), didn't think it survived outside the subtropics but now I know otherwise.:)

Mine grew well outdoors this summer, but didn't really get going bloom wise until September and was blooming into November.
It didn't like the recent frosts though. Budding up well enough now that it's back in the conservatory.
    They strike easily from cuttings.

You have been doing some trawling LongK. :D But this old thread is interesting - I hadn't realised it existed.

I came across this just this year. Its lovely. Its now happily sitting on the windowsill in my kitchen (its finished blooming) - any suggestions of winter treatment?

      I have a bit!
Over the winter months mine just get a little water when the leaves wilt. Going to be a little tricky to judge on my large one though as it objected to the frost it got exposed to a week or so ago.
Pot it on next spring and it'll grow fast.

:) Our new 'loves tropical plants' friend here longk sure has been doing some trawling Peter ....

        http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/tropical-gardening/6809-clerodendron-2.html

... I thought it was familiar but did not look back. My problem here is that I had it in a pot and my friend said it should be in the ground ... but I have a small garden on rock and clay and there just is not the space ... so pots it is ... :love30:

Must say that it is very nice that our almost long-lost tropical section is being revived ... thank you longk ... :wub2:

I started at the last page and worked my way forward Victoria...........

I noted that you were growing S.nicolai - here is a phone photo of the one at Oxfords botanic gardens that I took a couple of years ago............

Love the Clerodendron ugandense; any idea where is best to try and get one guys?, is seed and option or is it best bought as a plant?

          Thanks :thumb:

Reasonble sized GC's stock them in the summer months around here ranging in price from £8 to £15 for small plants.
Seeds are available on flea bay and the like, but they are slow/erratic germinators.

I bought mine for 99p out of the bargain bin!

I should have plenty of cutting material by late May if you've had no luck.........

A couple of close-ups to whet the appetite.........
