Stumbled across this. Its quite impressive. Please excuse the language of the chap in the second clip. I don't think he meant it, he was just expressing his mild surprise at one he'd just caught.

Fantastic! I love a good thunderstorm, although sadly we don't seem to get many around here.

True - seeing and hearing them is fantastic, as long as they are not directly hitting our house!

Years ago I was sat at my desk at work one day during a thunderstorm. It was clearly close, as there was very little delay between flash and rumble, and the rumbles were nice and sharp. Suddenly there was a most impressive bang, and everything in the office immediately went off. We we got pour back a couple of hours later, we did a stock check to see if all our gear was ok. Not bad. Only 4 computers damaged, and only superficial. Just massive corruption of data on the hard disks but no lasting physical damage. Took the rest of the day doing restores from backup and reinstalling Windows from scratch in one case (my machine, as sod's law would have it). Nothing quite on the scale of those in the video. Luckily nothing actually blew up.
