Cockle shells

Has anyone used cockle shells for a path or seating area?

We are reshaping a small seating area (just a bench), at the moment it’s gravel but we will need some more and was wondering whether to use cockle shells instead or mixed with it

 

I think that would improve the look of the gravel @Butterfly6. You may find the birds attracted by them though, mistaking them for snails. That’s what happened when I added some to a gravel topping on some pots!
