Coconut Palm

    Hi, I have an indoor cocnut palm, not sure how much water I should give it, and should I re-pot it, the 'coconut is looking a little dented' any advise welcome.

    Hi Rosie, I've never bought one of these, mainly because, as far as I know, they are not really a long term proposition.
    They tend to be more of a novelty plant rather than a serious houseplant.
    Anyway, I would tend to keep it on the damp side but not over wet.
    I'm not sure what good a repot would do, unless it has lots of roots that are growing well.
    Its probably still living on the food from the inside of the nut for now. [​IMG]

    Yeah, my daughter has one of these. The stem is about 3' high. No sign of a root.

    These novelty palms unfortunately never normally live more than a year in this country, high light intensity and salt air are two requirements but even those here don't seem to extend their lives. :(
