Hope some of you rose experts can help me here, I am wanting some rose bushes to go at the end of my veg plot to obscure the view from a public footpath and I've seen some stunning wild rose bushes at the side of a duel carriage way near to me which are now covered in rose hips. When is the best time to collect the hips? Will the seeds grow true to form? And what is the best way to start the seeds? Time of year and growing on etc any help greatly received
    Thanks
    Dan

It depends if there are any cultivated roses within a bee's flight of them.

I pick them to make Syrup in October when they are ripe and just before the Field Fares eat the lot of them.
