Reminder that a search (see top of page) in this section (beginners garden development) on:

    January Garden Colour
    February Garden Colour
    March Garden Colour
    April Garden Colour
    May Garden Colour

    etc,

will show you what can be flowering in each month of the year with some details on how to grow them. They are there to provide some ideas for new gardeners, and to be added to by members each month.

So what have you got in colour this month. Search January Garden Colour and add your pictures and growing descriptions for others to share.

Hi Fran - I've been looking for the first of those bulbs to apear but not even a snowdrop in flower yet. They are there though, loads of wee green shoots peeking up through the soil [IMG]

Thanks Frogesque. Today being sunny - I too went looking again and got a pleasant surprise - beside the quince still flowering. The cold snaps have certainly slowed things but I may have some piccies in a week - though not of bulbs, which including snowdrops are all peeking through but no flowers from them yet, but I only rarely get snowdrops flowering before Februay. Even my winter aconite is late this year.

Still its only the 11th, we got a week or so :D

I spent the day in a lecture theatre in London so I missed out on a lovely day. I'm hoping tomorrow is pleasant because I'm working from home and will, hopefully get an opportunity to inspect the garden for any signs of spring activity.
