I was wondering if anyone had instructions on how to make a compost bin, I have a very small garden so can't make something to wide or long, height isn't too much of a problem though. Something about the size of the round council ones would be ideal - I've got some wood from some old bunkbeds that I can reuse so I'd rather make one from that than buy one.
I've got the essential things - wood, saw, hammer, and nails I can get from my dad, I also have a hinge from an old gate laying around too, lol. I'd prefer something made from wood rather than black plastic as it'll look better in my garden.
I'll also need to know where the best place to put it would be, I know sun is best and shade isn't as good, but thats about all.
    Thanks in advance :)

That first one does look difficult to unload when you want ot get the compost out you'd have to take it apart. The second one is much better at least you slide the panels out.
Two pieces of wood with the appropriate gap inbetween would work for the sliding opening part, the rest I'd probably have fixed and unmovable.
Thanks to both of you it's given me something to think about as I've had to give all my composing stuff to my mum to compost in her black bin type composter - it'd be nice to have a go at making my own.
