Up to last year I used to tip all my grass cutttings in to one big heap. I have just dug through this heap to find that it is a really nice compost now. My question is, can I use this as it is just from grass. I have been told it will be too nitrogen rich, is this true

I used to put it around cucumber plants, just away from the stem, then water.
Stand back, they grow like the clappers.

I have used grass cuttings quiet a few years now and have never had any problems, what I do is have 2 heaps, pile all the grass and any other green plant materials onto 1 heap the first year.At the end of the season the heap is covered with old carpet and left alone, maybe turn it over 2/3 times in winter. Year 2 I start another heap and do the same thing, then use heap 1,using it in my potato trenches, then into my pea trenches after this if there is any left I just spread it onto the garden and rotovate it in.
