Hi, I have been reading about compost tea, it seems a good concept but I am wondering if it is widely used by serious gardeners.
Would like to hear your comments.

The big pumpkin growers in the states make a seaweed tea using the same method...seems a bit time consuming to me.

I make and use comfrey tea by soaking chopped up comfrey in water, then diluting to the colour of tea for watering. Just fed my whole plot today with that.

    Steve...:)

Like Steve, I got 3 dustbins on the go, I cram them full of weeds & then fill with water, in about 3 weeks you get a liquid feed.

If you get one drop of it on you, you'll smell bad forever:tomato:

Thanks, guys, I have decided to give it a go with worm castings, will let you know how it goes,
I will try your way as well, from what I read I need to purchase some comfrey roots and start growing some. I think I will grow it at the workshop grounds to as not to infest my garden.

I prefer PG tips, if it's good enough for the monkeys it's good enough for me :D

My father, good gardener though he was, was hopeless as making compost and a black 'ooze' would seep from the bottom of his heap - he had many different names for this gunge .... funnily enough 'tea' wasn't one of them!
