I used to use seed sowing compost to sown my seeds in the greenhouse when I last had a garden

This spring I couldn't find any seed sowing compost although plenty multi purpose which wasn't as fine
    I live in Perthshire

    What does everyone else use?

    Thanks

    Rab

ps used to pay Ã?£6 for 80 litre bag so the price has come down (3 x 80 litre Ã?£12) [IMG]

Barndym, I`m surprised you are unable to get seed compost. However, you should be alright with a good multi-purpose compost. David.

The price has come down Brandym and so has the quality, most compost sold these days is petty awful stuff, but I think its only the JI that you will find as specifically for seed these days.
Most of us get by with a multi purpose as David says.

I use multipurpose mixed with a third part sharp sand. You could always sieve the compost.

I've had no problem getting seed compost (in Surrey) this year - I use 2-1 seed / perlite and cover with vermiculite if needed.
