Hi, I have a very large pine tree in the garden and under the tree the pine looks like its composted and is quite black and crusty. Would this be ok to adding to pots of ferns and hostas?
    Thanks

Assuming it is composted pine needles it is likely to be acid - so will benefit plants that like Ericaceous soil, but I suppose it might be a bit acid for other things.
