My next door neighbour has ivy growing up our adjoining fence. I keep fighting it back each year but it is so abundant. I try composting the perishing stuff. Trouble is it takes a lot of my composting space up. Is it OK to compost it?

I find Ivy doesn't compost very well - it keeps rooting and trying to escape the heap! It will go down if buried under a good layer of grass clipping though. Make sure the damned stuff hasn't set berries or your compost will become infested with seedlings.

Perhaps you could shred it all first, might break down faster.
