Hi everyone. At the back of my garden I have a conrete area where a couple of sheds used to stand. The area is about 4x6m and gets a fair amount of sun. However the concrete is quite uneven and thick. i have considered getting someone in to remove it but does anyone have any other (perhaps cheaper) ideas to make it look nice? Thanks Anna.

    Anna,

How uneven ? Have you thought of a Resin based surfacing. Basically ,they lay a coloured gritty surface (as on roads, around roundabouts, near schools etc) on to your existing concrete.

I laid my own concrete drive a year ago, and I will possibly have this done, as it looks quite attractive.

    Hope this helps

    Nathan.

    Hi Anna
just a thought but you could build a deck over the concrete area, just say 6 inches high.Put a few plants in containers scattered around and sit in the sun.

If you dont like decking put an edging around the concrete and cover with ornamental gravel (cheap and easy!)

If you do use gravel make sure it is at least 20mm or cats will use it as a toilet. Save money by buying from a builders merchants rather than a garden centre.
