Conifer Tree's Query

    Hi,

    I have a row of conifer tree's which I cut recently for the first time this year.

    Before starting to trim them I found the middle at the top to look dead and wonder if its from me cutting them to serverly last year. See picture attached. 20220409_103107.jpg

    Would be good to understand my assumption is correct and confirm they can't be salvaged etc.

    Yes very likely , golden leylandii and most conifers can't regenerate when cut into brown wood . I wouldn't worry about the top as you can see the sides do tend to push into the open space , it will fill in a bit faster if you raise the height of the hedge a bit.
