    Good call Dabbit! :D

As my little patch is filling up, I'm starting to get quite a collection of pots and planters.

Not sure if the plants I have chosen are all suitable for containers.

All part of of the fun though! :D

There's a good article in Gardening Which about container gardening, reinforcing that there's very little you can't grow in containers - including trees, as long as you know the conditions the plants like - and protect against the dreaded vine weevil. :(

My sentiments exactly - though between pravado over winter, and frogs in the summer - just may those little white slugs will not be there to eat my plants roots.

Is is possible to grow rhubarb in a container as I have no spare room in borders. If so can anyone tell me what the best rhubarb would be and when to plant it. Also size of container.

Think you would need a rather tall pot. They need deeply dug soil. When I bought crowns I double dug the plot and worked in heaps of cow muck.Might be a varity out there,I'm sure someone will know more. [IMG]

I was thinking of having a bash at rhubarb next year, as I am rather partial to it...And the shop prices this year of £1.29 for three sticks was a rip off...So as soon as I see them I am going to buy some to try....

    Dabbit,

Sorry I had not seen this suggestion before ( I get very busy ). I think the forum could do with a containers section, as the restricted/flowerbox type growing would appeal not only to the disabled but also people with no garden but a window ledge i.e block of flats.

Also, with the growth of the site, extra sections are also a valuable way for people to find the information they require in the correct section.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will be ading the section shortly.

    Nathan.

Thanks Webmaster a containers section would be great. I'd love to be able to grow rhubarb, or strawberries. Just need the know-how and do's and don'ts from folks like gardners corner members. My plants in containers do ok, but a couple of years back tried lettuce & radishes but they were uneatable.Think i need to learn how and when to feed
of years back tried lettuce & Radishes
