    Hi everyone,

I’m new to forum - it seems a fab place so far!

I’m hoping someone will tell me I’m overreacting and set my mind at rest.

I was spraying the base and stems of my roses (all 20 odd of them) with a hydrogen peroxide solution to kill off black spot spores (I was tortured last year and it really affected the roses health), when my husband informed me I was using his sprayer instead of mine.

He used it once last year with weed killer and promised that he did wash it/rinse it throughly. I have no idea what kind it was but it worked on the weeds.

Please tell me it’s fine! I can’t believe I mixed the sprayers up!!

The only thing you could have done was hose the roses down, just in case. :noidea:

      Hope they're OK. :)

Thanks @shiney - in typical Irish fashion it rained shortly after so I’m hoping that’s helped!

It's a pain, isn't it? The trouble is, you tend to get ones which are the same colour so you can't tell.

I did try using Sharpie to write what each sprayer was for, but weedkillers and insecticides both seem to dissolve Sharpie. A Dymo would have worked, but they also seem to affect glue. The best solution I found was to scratch the word on the side of the sprayer.

A patch of red spray paint on the sprayer and, if you have another, a patch of green spray paint on the other should warn you which is which.

Depends what the spray was, some can be very persistent in the soil.
