Inspired by the interesting hobbies you all are sharing, I'd like to show you a few of the attempts I have made at watercolours.

I don't do them very often and tend to do a whole load in a splurge and then have a gap of years before doing it again. It is a very therapeutic pastime though.

I know they don't hold a candle to Rosa's beautiful work but here goes anyway!

I used to do pics of Devon as leaving presents for people at work but haven't done anything for a long time now - hoping inspiration will find me again this springtime.

    Hi CM
I love your 'daubs'. If you have the time keep them up.

Your cartoons made me laugh out loud.

Love to see any more of either sort you have.

    cheers

Lovely, Cookie ... you have many talents.

Just hope you can soon get back into the love of life work with animals when your health improves because it is evident you love what you know best.

In the meantime, keep showing the art. [IMG]

Thanks so much everyone. Maybe I should try to compose some dalek gardening cartoons!

Marley - thanks for your comment, it means a lot. I'm afraid I'm a big chicken and have a bit of a confidence issue about the watercolours. I never achieve on paper what I am seeing in my head and it is quite frustrating. But then I go and stop doing it rather than practising more, and defeat the whole object....

I am going to set myself a task this spring and summer to get the old brushes out again.

My mum is a great critic!!! She reckons all my buildings look like something out of Trumpton and pointed out that some boats I attempted in Tenby harbour actually appeared to be going uphill. Plus my rendition of the church at Avebury appeared to have it with severe structural problems and massive subsidence!

    Ah mums ! Bless 'em!
