    Hello... my first post here!
Planted a Cordyline Australis "Red Star" about 3 weeks ago.
Plant appears to be doing well, watered correctly etc... however a lot of the leaves are losing the red colour and are turning green.

I would be grateful if anyone can offer some advice?
    Many thanks

Hi trevmuk and welcome. I am not sure why the leaves would lose their red colour except maybe not enough sun. Is it in the shade?

Hello, trevmuk, and welcome to GC. To be honest, I didn't know Cordlyline Australis actually had red-tinged leaves! [IMG]

Not knowing your location, I would almost say it was cold that gave them a red tinge and now they are reverting to their natural colour! In saying so, they can withstand cold temperatures, neglect and some shade.

I must say that I am growing my various coloured grasses in filtered shade in order to keep their colour.

Sorry, I'm not really any help but there are a few here who will be able to advise you correctly.

    Enjoy the forum!

PS I've edited to say I see it is called "Red Star" which I don't know! [IMG]

trevmuk, I think I would give it a chance to settle and wait an see the final colour of any new growth that appear this year.
If it was red when you bought it, then I think it will turn out to have the red colouring, but maybe the old leaves are just aclimatising to their new conditions.
