I have a Cordyline which was in a pot for about 4 years, 3 years ago we planted it in the ground, and it has tripled in size. This year it has thrown up a huge flower pike. Is it possible to grow from, if any the seeds it produces. When should I collect them, how should I store and when and how do I sow.

Hi yes when it's finished flowering there will be millions of seeds, I planted some seeds years ago straight away and left them in the shed, but they did'nt germinate till the following spring. So you could just put some in a container and keep in fridge till next spring, or do what I did and wait!!

My Cordyline Purpurea self-seeded all over the garden, yours may do the same but sow some to make sure.
I grow up to about fifty a year at work in spring and germinate in about 3/4 weeks depending on temperature usually around 22c. [IMG]
