Thought it was about time I cleaned out all the dead leaves from the cordys,
    [IMG]
    So out came the ladder
    [IMG]
Then I noticed these, aerial roots,
    [IMG]
But these are fifteen feet from the ground.

Lovely garden, I want a conservatory but it's all money! I've got loads of house plants mainly foliage, my latest being the Bat plant 'Tacca'. So when I get the conservatory it will be chocka block with plants, and just room for a settee and lights!!

Pete. I have half a mind not to send you the burrawang. (Actually I have half a mind, period). They say it is terrible to be jealous. I am terrible. [IMG]

    I hadn't spotted that !!!!!!! It's huge !!!!!!

Mine is somewhat smaller, I bought it for my desk in 2001 at 2" it is now about 8". The first few years it grew nice and plump but recently it has thinned out and gone a bit bendy ? Looks healthy enough but clearly its not normal ?

Needs more light I would guess BM, where they come from they get almost constant sunshine, and very high temps.

Excellent, you have had a good year if these are recent matey. I thought you gave the cycad away in the first picture ?

When my tetrapanax suckers I will send you one to keep the bananas company.

The agaves look good, I wonder if my tiny ones will make it ? This winter is going to be a first for a few of my newbie borderines [IMG]

Must say pete its a credit to you, especially as you were well ahead of your time with the mature tropicals. I can look at your cordy and imagine my skyline in 10 years :D

Would still like a waggie but I am definitely maxed out :(

Maybe I will try some outdoor cactus next year [IMG] Sorry thinking out loud again.

    :D

They are all this year, Cycad????
Tetrapanax I have never grown, its a new one on me, but I have never tried it because it was always considered far too tender a few years ago.
My agaves get some protection even though they are against the house wall, they are hardy but the wet, I think is too much for them.
As for outdoor cacti, I have opuntia, Prickly pear. I'll send you some, sometime if you like.
As for most of the others I've tried, they survive but dont do well.
