    As requested by kandyfloss.
    shortcrust pastry.
    8 ozs self raising flour
    4 ozs margarine
    pinch salt
    milk and water for mixing
make dough as you would normally do.

    2 tins corned beef
    6 potatoes
4 onion chopped and soften in pan of water
    boil poatoes
mash corned beef and mash potato then mix together little salt and pepper added and mix onions to the mixture

put mixture in a large long tin, then roll out pastry and put it on top of mixture.
dab pastry with a fork in a few places then dab mixed egg over top,
put it in middle of pre-heated oven of a 4 gas and cook until pastry is nice and brown

Sounds nice, Rosa. May try that with the pastry only on the top. Must say that I'd only do half the recipe though! You skinny folk!

I do make it, Rosa, but with pastry top and bottom, but I'm lazy and buy ready-made pastry, even here. Just have never tried it with the pastry only on the top. As you say, it freezes well, like sausage and onion pie! Another yummy!

It's difficult to get corned beef here. Well, you can, at a premium, but the it's still worth it. I brought back a half dozen tins in October as I do like my corned beef, particulary in sandwiches, one of my favourites! [IMG] Actually, I prefer it cold to hot! [IMG]

Rosa,im gonna try your recipe today.I set about it yesterday and got a call halfway through about an appointment i was late for,so just left the lot for around an hour and a half and when i got back the pastry was hard so gave it up as a bad job.I have to say im useless at pastry, cakes etc and young fiz looks at me funny when i threaten to bake.I have however, with the help of your lovely pics, sussed something out. When i try pies, the filling always spills over into the oven.Looking at your beautiful offerings i suddenly realised that you have sort of curled the edges up.It would NEVER have dawned on me.Amazing.THATs how you do it!
    Wish me luck. [IMG] :D
