A recent on-line contact has helped me out with some seeds that I was looking for. I had nothing that he was after, so the least that I could do is to increase his exposure in his search for some unusual seeds. Having checked with Armandii, he said that this would be ok.
He's a real gent, and it would be nice to see him here.
In this post I'll cut and paste his wants, and in post two I'll cut and paste what he has for swap in return.
If you can help send me a pm and I'll pm you his email.

I (and many others maybe) have always thought of the flora of Portugal being more exotic!

Well I never knew there were that many varieties!!! I would love to see all the types growing together to see the differences. The bees would love it too!

I didn't know there were so many species of thistle either :hate-shocked:
I should have seed later in the year of Onopordum Arabicum,if you don't already have it, just sowed my last few seeds last year and it should flower this, although last time I grew it I nearly did myself a mischief trying to stake it on a really windy day, bit of a monster grew to well over 6ft.

I've just searched my pictures, thought I had a picture of them but can't find one, think it was 2007 when I last grew them(that was the date I'd written on the seed packet:biggrin: ), so probably before I started taking pictures of my plants, just found the seeds in my seed box last year and thought I'd see if they were still viable, being a biennial they're just a rosette of grey leaves at the moment but as soon as they start sending up the flowering stem I'll post a picture on here.
Thankyou I'll have a look at your seed list Sal and see what treasures you have

003.JPG Just weeding in the garden today and found this had self seeded from last year, quite glad really as I forgot to collect seed
Have you grown this one Sal, 'Blessed Mary Thistle'?
Gardening must be pretty lethal for you Sal:heehee: , the thorns on this went straight through my thick gardening gloves.
