Corylus avellana contorta

I have just purchased my 3rd Corylus (it was half price ) Poor thing has loads of suckers which need removing. The man at the garden centre advised that I pull them out from as deep down as possible but I have tugged on the little so and so's with all my might and thay wont budge can I just cut them at ground level?

 

Unfortunately if you do, they will just grow again from any bit left under the compost. S****e away the compost until you find the root from which they are emerging and pull them of from there. If that is difficult then use a sharp knife to remove with a little of the root as well.

 

Agree with Pal`, here Nut. Go below soil level and remove.:thumb:

Not at all too late, Nut. Basically you can repot anything at any time.:thumb:
