Cosmos Seeds

    Is it easy to take seeds from Cosmos? I'd like to collect seeds from some of my plants for next year to save on money..

    Hi Kyle.

    Very easy to do just leave the old flowers on the plant don't dead head. When the petals fall off you will see the green seeds, wait until they dry and turn black then remove the whole head and the seeds will come out if you gently roll them between thumb and fingers. this is how I have collected mine this year.

      Thanks a lot, Rusty! I have quite a lot I haven't deadheaded recently so I'll just leave them and copy your advice.

      I grew Cosmos gazebo mix this year . I think I will save the seeds as well , thanks for the tip Rusty :blue thumb: As well as saving a couple of pounds , I am also going to seperate the 3 colours red white pink , so I know what colour I will plant out next year !
