Hi - I have an old Cotoneaster and the trunk is looking quite damaged

Is there anything I can do to stop it from getting worse?

    Thanks, Nick

    Hi Nick

I'm not sure which type of cotoneaster yours is or what has caused that deterioration of the bark. No obvious sign of honey fungus. It could be some sort of canker or just old age. Whatever the problem is, I doubt that you can do anything to stop it.

I have a cotoneaster hedge and it's very, very tough. I suspect that your cotoneaster will carry on for a good many years to come.
