    Hi again

    another question....

I have a rather large, well established Cotoneaster at work but i would like to take a cutting from it to grow at home to brighten up the shabby fence panel i have. I'm rather impatient and would like to take a large section (thick woody branch) as I have read that it does not produce flowers or berrys for a few years i do have this small one that has seeded itself a little bit away from the main branch that i have taken up to plant at home, but as I said I'm a little impatient, any help on how i would go about doing this would be apreciated.
The one I have taken up (see pic with watering can to get an idea of size) may already be a few years old as it's quite large and woody, if anyone can hazzard a guess at the age that would be great!
I have also taken a few pics from the main part of it, i think the berry's are lovely

    Thanks in advance

    Kate

I'm sorry I can't give you any technical help, all I know is, the cotoneaster outside my back door was about 4' high when we moved in (in 1984) and it's yet to reach the top of the 6' high fence panel - and that's despite repeated attempts to make it less horizontalis and slightly more 'verticalis'!

    .......that's a long time.....
I have another bit that is growing rather nicely "verticalis" against the actual building....and that seems to have done well in the 4 years ive worked there.....

Any other ideas for a nice climber that i could use to fill a panel??....it's quite a shady panel but gets light but not direct sun

Hi, Genie, are you thinking of an evergreen or deciduous climber??? To make the Cotoneaster grow faster you might have to rub the Lamp and make a wish.:heehee::heehee:

Hahahaha.........i wish i could.....but decided against the cotoneaster now....

I'd like it to be evergreen....i would have put another wisteria there and just kept on top of it but i don't like how it looks over winter.....so something similar that keeps it's leaves would be great
