Could it be blight and what next?

Here's a very funny thing; well, odd would be a better word. Not funny at all.

I've grown tomatoes very successfully for several years and until this year knew nothing about blight at all. Really, next to nothing. Then I saw a programme on television recently which talked about blight and I thought I hope mine don't get that!

Now it seems as though they might indeed have blight. They're outdoors, various kinds, not particularly developed and some of the leaves are developing brown, broken patches. I've looked at quite a lot of images of blight and although there don't appear to be any black spots I wonder what else it could be. I suppose I'll know in a few days. Don't they keel over very quickly with blight?

If it is, is there any point in trying to start again (or would the same thing happen?) and could I use some of the same compost? Some are quite small and alone in what would have been a two-plant container.

    Many thanks

    Neil

It's too early for blight so I wouldn't worry about that. It's more than likely a bit of frost damage although it's difficult to say without any photos.

If it is blight, and it doesnt sound like it is, dont reuse the compost surrounding, get rid of it, or you'll have the same problem, but it doesnt sound like blight.
    Good luck.
