Recycle an old tub or some sort! Why buy it? I use an old washing tabs tub, keep it on the sideboard and fill it with all the peelings etc. Then just empty it onto the compost heap.

I asked on freecycle if anyone had an unwanted/unused compost bin and got one !! The black 'dalek' type one - so now I have two and can leave my full one for a few months while I use the new one .... Val

Don't put food on it Cyril it will attract vermin, don't put your grass on the heap all at once build your heap up in 6" layers using different materials ,too much grass at once will just end up a soggy mess.
