    Hi

Now some of my strawberries have reddened up when is the best time to pick them? Do they still grow in size when in the red phase? Or do they do all their growing when they are green?

My potato's in barrels the stems have now started drooping and they have flowered. Should I wait until the plant has completely died back before I earth them up? I have dug down for one or two potatos and they seem quite small but they are new potatos anyway and they may be bigger the further down I go...

Once strawberries are red they are ripe, all that will happen then is they will go over ripe and rot.
Earthing up of potatoes is done as they grow. The purpose is to lengthen the stem thus producing more roots and thus more potatoes. There is no point earthing up once the foliage has begun to flower. Whether you dig them up now or wait until the foliage has withered is a matter of how desparate you are for the potatoes. They will get bigger as the foliage dies, but stop once it has gone.
