The first leaves to appear are the 'seed' leaves.
Their sole purpose is to feed the seedling until it can start to grow proper leaves which have now appeared.
The seed leaves are no longer of any use to the plant, so they die off and fall.
So it's just as you would expect and nothing to worry about.

PS - if the bigger leaves start to look silvery, then it has mildew

Are they in full sun in a greenhouse, just wonder if it's a reaction to the intensity of the light.
It's been pretty sunny and very clear at times here recently.

They're in a polytunnel and apart from the last two days it has been really hot.

Agree with @JennyJB - I mostly grow the Gold type and they tend to have silvery markings on the leaves too. Easy to differentiate between that and Mildew.

I think these are now due to be repotted if you are not yet brave enough to plant out. Personally I would try and engineer a shelter/find a cloche and plant them out.
I would sow more seeds as 'spares' to hedge your bets/extend the season. Its still early for courgette.

Never really grown courgettes but marrow is pretty much the same plant and those pictures of silver viens tends occur in summer when the plants are growing fast, I think it's different to the seed leaves turning silver.
