    Hi,

I have some courgette plants and whilst watering today i noticed that 2 of them have black patches on 1 of their leaves. Do i need to just cut them off or is it a major problem? The rest of the plants all look ok.

    Hi Rusty

I would cut down on the water just give them what they need no more I keep mine just slightly damp as they can easily rot at the roots I have a feeling it might be the dry air because they are growing on the window sill and the leaves growing so quickly from your picture I dont think mould or anything nasty , did you spill water on them ?? or over water at any point as they can lose alot on the edges I have had this but not on small plants only when bigger I would just keep a eye on them for now we will see what the others have to say on here .

Is it where the leaves are touching the windowsill and getting too damp? I agree with spruce, it may be over watering, but it does not look too bad. They are outdoor plants so dislike the conditions on a windowsill, not that I'm suggesting you move it outside yet. I have mine indoors and usually the lower leaves start to yellow or drop off before the weather improves and they can be planted out.

Water from the base if possible (stand in a saucer of water for 10 minutes - don't forget them though, they won't like becoming water logged), rather than watering from above.
