Here is a weird but short question..

Can the stems from a courgette plant be eaten?

I had to remove some today that were encroaching onto the pathways, and while cutting them up into little bits to compost, I suddenly thought that it seemed a waste. They were very succulent, and in some way reminded me of celery. I said that it was weird!!:D

Courgette stem soup it is then!!:D

It's not a waste if you compost it, Eddie.

It's food for your next lot of veg.

Possibly my favourite Gardening Thing is using old stuff I've grown to feed new stuff I grow. The wonder of nature.

I've never heard they were poisonous Eddie, but I've never heard they tasted good either.
I think you would be safe to eat them, but they might be YUK!
I'll stick to putting them on the compost heap where I know they do some good.
