Courgettes dead by morning - Pull them out or dig them in?

Its nithering up here tonight. I expect my courgette plants will be dead by morning.

I'm inclined to dig them into the ground and leave them for the creatures to work on all winter to help the soil structure. Is there any reason not too? I.e. do they harbour any nasty plant diseases?

 

Not that i know of, mine usually self destruct when they've finished.

Nithering? is that from Anglo Saxon for very low?

 

Dunno. Its always just meant freezing to me.

Down here Nythe just means really low as in probably going to get flooded.

 

Its forecast for tonight. Just before sunset the car reported that it was 8 degrees C, and we have a clear sky tonight.

Here in East Yorkshire it's currently 7 degrees but it just said on TV may drop to 3degrees....

 

Does anyone know the temperature of doom for courgettes? I once read it was 10 degrees or lower.

What have the romans ever done for us?

 

They will hold few frost and then doom time ,usually they dye down at the end of October beginner of November , but that all dipend from where you living.
So this year we had no Spring , no Summer and finally no Autumn .......how nice.
