Can some one confirm if I leave my courgettes they turn in marrows ?
But if I want some marrows and I slow down picking them wont they stop producing ? At the moment I am picking about 8 inches long and they are producing like mad

Only from what I have found the last three years is if you leave them once the flower dies they start to rot from where the flower is

They will grow slowly into marrows, but if you leave them on the plant it stops them producing more smaller courgettes.

You'll get away with letting the occasional one grow to marrow size.

Marley had a great recipe for a simple Courgette pickle, I loved it.

I agree with Dave that letting the occasional one grow bigger doesn't affect the growth of others much. Though I can't see any reason to do so. They don't actually grow into marrows, they grow into big courgettes :heehee: and the middle of them, and the skins, will be unusable for your chutney
