    Hi,

I have an area of lawn approximate 5' x 12' which is mostly weeds and very uneven. Is it best to rip up and put down a brand new layer of top soil or can I kill off the existing weeds etc and then cover with new topsoil, thus saving time and money?

    Many thanks

Good evening Jacko and welcome to the site.:dbgrtmb: Spray the area with glyphosate and kill it all off, then hire a rotorvator for the day and give the area a good seeing to. Then, rake it level, removing any stones and plant debris. Gently firm with a light roller or the back of a spade and either, re turf or re seed.:dbgrtmb:
