After 40+ years of incident free motoring I was involved in my first collision last evening on a notorious part of the North Circular (A406) . The other car involved accelerated as we went from a 40 to 50mph zone then slammed on it's brakes, despite noble efforts on my part (Met Police comments not mine) I was unable to avoid the collision and the mysterious phantom car that made the other car brake had vanished!

Aches and pains later, both myself and Tess (my dog) are not too bad, thankfully.

They must have been amateurs because the car they used didn't have an MOT, their insurance invalidated and my insurance company rubbing their hands because they have NO third party liability!

I hit a bus on a dual carriageway once (no central barriers). The bus driver shouted out of the window that it was his fault, and he parked up. Then he said 'your fault' :ouch1:
The insurance said 80% his, 20% mine, to which I replied 'its going to court then, get me a solicitor'. They phoned back soon after to say '100% his fault'.
If I had accepted, both insurances would have been quids in. The crafty @*^#'s
Glad you are both ok though :)
I take it you hadn't protected your no claims?
