[IMG] Allot of you have shown interest in having a creative competition. As this is a new idea & many of you are new to the Creative side of photography,. We can have a trial to see how it works out..ââ?¬Â¦ [IMG]
We are also part way into the month. Plus it is a short month... So...
I have laid out some very basic guideline lines below for this monthââ?¬â?¢s competition, but I am open to suggestions that can be put into action next month.. It is of course based on honesty & integrity as the other competition is... [IMG]
Please PM me with your ideas.
I hope by having the two competitions running we will see some very interesting & imaginative photos in this comp. With the other competition encouraging us to go out & take the very best photo we can, & not settle for 2nd best.. We have all improved in our photography so much entering that one.. I think they compliment each other in fact... So come on everyone, lets start to have funââ?¬Â¦. [IMG]

I thought as the weather is playing a big part in all our lives this month it would be a good theme for this competition So to kick this competition off, the theme is H2,OH..!! Plenty of scope for the imagination & interpretation!

    Please follow the guidelines below:-

1.All entries to be submitted by 23.59Hrs on the last day of the month of the competition.
    2. You can enter up to three (3) pictures.
    3. Give your picture a title
    4. Post your pics within this thread for entry into the competition. Pics posted in other threads will not be considered
5.Pics have to be taken within the current competition month

6.You CAN use software for enhancement or manipulation of a single original image. This may include submission of an image comprising multiple layers of the original image.
Any image deemed to be more than one single image of multilayers, willl deleted.. Mods decision is final.

    7. The winner will be decided by votes by the users of the forum.

    8. The winner of the competition gets to choose the theme for the next month's competition. This theme is to be kept a seperate & different theme from the" Current Monthly Photo Comp" theme.

Please post discussion for this months pictures and about the competition HERE

The very best of luck this month !! [IMG]

Venus and Mercury hanging over Loch Leven on 7th February. 2007

Original had some flaws due to dust on the sensor so they have been corrected with Photoshop Elements. The photo was then resisized but otherwise untouched. 15sec@f16, 55mm prime lens.
I could have used a much faster setting but I wanted maximum depth of field.

I love this lens, it's an Asahi Pentax Super Takumar with an M42 screw thread combined with a Canon adaptor ring and gives full control of aperture. It marries 'real' photography with the digital era and good used examples are not expensive compared to modern autofocus lenses (by a factor of about 10-1!). I also have a set of extension tubes that allow macro photography as close as 1"

Drips from a tap taken against an out of focus blue background (plastic tub lid)

Image cropped, sharpened and flipped vertically before resizing (Irfanview). Ghosting is caused by backgound spotlighting while the main details have been captured with camera flash.

55mm prime lens + 28mm extension tube. f8 @ 1/250 sec. exposure. Front of lens to subject approx 100mm
