Have some gorgeous creeping jenny trailing from a planter, must be at least 2 metres in circumference. Any tips on how to stop grass, clumps of grass growing through it other than pulling it out? Tia

I think it would probably survive a nuclear bomb!
I don't see how you could stop grass growing, but you could lift up its 'skirts' and pull the grass out by the roots from underneath.

I plant similarly strong-growing plants together with Creeping Jenny, and they all hold their own and suppress weeds. Mexican daisies Erigeron karvinskianus, Campanula posch and port, and even the slightly less virulent mints like Strawberry Mint. Creeping Jenny trails beautifully, but I wanted something in the same pot that grows taller. Creeping Jenny is incredibly strong, even the Aurea variety that I have.

I might be pushing it with the Strawberry Mint, so far it seems to co-exist happily with Creeping Jenny, Erigeron karvinskianus and Campanula, but its roots do take over pots and it might eventually push out anything else growing in the same pot.

I'm not sure I'm understanding this correctly, but - why have you got the planter sitting on grass @Pipcas?

That just creates problems, as you're discovering.
