Thats got to be a first. Its normally farmers in the Sahel region of Africa that have problems with locusts.

Locusts are short horned grasshoppers that have swarmed there was a large swarm in France in july 2005 caused loads of dammage in everyones gardens and window boxes, crickets are related to grasshoppers, usually the one that inhabits property is Acheta domesticus, they usually like it very warm in a lot of countries they are kept as pets.

Our cicadas are out in full force now. I love listening to them but some people can't/don't hear them.

We keep finding crickets in the house - mind you, it does have something to do with oldest spawn's pet geckos and their food - somehow they keep escaping!!!!!!
.... and with all this wet weather - where I keep the back door open, we have a constant stream of beetles and grasshoppers in the kitchen looking for a warm dry shelter!!
