    :cry3::cry3::cry3:

My computer/photography room on the ground floor along with the kitchen has a concrete floor

Six weeks ago I treated myself to a new Sony A77 camera
I had it in my photography room tonight set up on its Tripod for tomorrow

The visiting Brother in Law, decided to close the legs of the tripod and lean it against the wall, as he had put his Christmas presents under the tripod

Yes you know what comes next, my camera dived down onto the concrete floor
and I am now the proud owner of a camera with the eyecup detached a cracked lens hood and a gardening book :cry3:

    Happy Christmas

    Jack McH

I know he didn't *mean* it, but that was a pretty thoughtless thing for him to do (and an expensive one!).

Hope you and BIL find an amicable way to resolve this :grphg:

Apart from a cracked lens hood, My camera appears to be OK
the eye piece is just the rubber type thing that can be removed
I just do not know how it could have jumped off (shock I suppose)
I have tried many settings today, and all appear to work
      shutter speeds etc zoom,
The only thing I can not really check is the In Camera Stabalisation
and being mirror less it has no moving parts in there
If that is all I can get a new lens hood for a few pounds

Only I seem to worry about loss of faith in the camera
Oh Jack it appears fine, lets get on with Crimbo

Thank you all for your concerns and wishes

Cmon Shipper's, tiz but a blink of the eye and you get goffered from the cruel seas of family troubled with awkwardness.
Be of good faith and put a smile on that way you can see the bright side in most things matey.

I know what you're saying about the loss of confidence in the Camera, Jack. But that's just negative psychology due to seeing something you've got pride and and sense of achievement in having being slightly damaged. I guess it's like having a nice car and being involved in a crash....you don't have the same confidence in it after. But if you look at it the other way.....that camera took a bounce onto the floor and is still working perfectly, which means it's a tough quality camera which can take the knocks and still come back fighting!!! Once you get the chance to get out there and take the great pics that you do, time will do the rest!! The lens hood and eye piece can be replaced easily as you say...........you've picked the camera up, now all you need to do is pick yourself up.:snork:
