Hi Skotcat, have you thought about sending out some flyers to the local care homes. I'm sure they would be happy to post them on their information for visitors boards. Relatives are always looking for ideas for presents and many older people like a little cape round their shoulders - so they might as well have a nice one.

Hello Alice no not thought of flyer but aminour local knitting and crochet group we meet in th ewool shop on aThur afternoon.

I had 1 on myself I got an order for a gift form one of the ladies who knits but does not crochet.

I have since got another order and wool supplied colour pale lilac and cream.

I use 7 -50gr balls of double knitting yarn.

They are even nice on top of a favourite jacket so can show them off and keep back warm and you dont have a flapping scarf.

You can always pm me if you want one made.

And Jasmine yes in this cold weather many folk are knitting cosy hats etc.

    Thankyou Capney.

Penny if you are on skype I could help you step by step.

Gorgeous Kath, I am just wondering if you buy your patterns or use a site such as Ravelry where you can get free patterns?
Patterns are so expensive to buy aren't they?

I am so pleased knitting/crochet is making a comeback. I just love the knitted bags they have on Ravelry!

Jazmine this is my own pattern that I have made so its Unique.

I have just posted on Ravelry .

And I was in Marks and Spencers in Perth last week and got stopped by this Lady at first I thought it was someone who knew me and I had not noticed her .

But no a complete stranger complimented my hat I was wearing asking where it was bought and I was able to say I make them myself,I was so chuffed.

I was thinking the shoulder cape may also look nice in thin cotten thread.

Very pretty Scotkat. Have you thought of making it out of the yarn that is fluffy, and all in one color.

Thankyou Redstar I had not thought of using fluffy yarn and it may look nice all in one colour.

But if anyone asked me to make all in one colour of I would do this.

I am going to see if I can get a thinner like silk type yarn and make this in a lighter look not heavy and cosy .

    More for Spring and summer.

Redstar are you same friend who met Denise and her daughter in Florida?
