I just pulled up the news on Yahoo and he's that cute guy who has Australia Zoo, a programme I watch on a regular basis. His wife works with him and they have one small daughter who's always on the programme! How awful, I really liked the guy and his work! :(

Just read there was a son as well but you only saw the wife Terri and daugher Bindi on the programme all the time. He's done marvels with the zoo, such a wonderful place. I'll for one miss him!

Agree - that news is very sad. He did a lot to spread the word about 'dangerous' animals. Seems it was an awful accident as the stingray stabbed his chest and right into his heart. They said if it had been a leg or arm he wouldn't have died. :(

I'm out of step as usual, but I found all that fake croc wrestling shameful. Or have I got the wrong guy?

I've probably got it wrong then. I only channel hopped and saw some Aussie in a funny hat mauling a stressed out croc and trying to look macho for the camera. (Aussie that is not the croc) Noticed that David Bellamy was deeply saddened by Irwin's death so that says a lot.

Didn't see many of his programmes, but was he the one that had a lot of bad press, because he dangled his newborn daughter over a crocs jaws?

Such a shame though,I wouldn't wish that sort of death on anyone

he has had, to wrestle crocs down to take them to another location i guess a croc is certainly a big difference to a dog and yet look at how humane services handle strange dogs iff not certain dogs can be dangerous.
he has certainly done a lot of work in australia in his zoo and keeping species from becoming extinct.it in my opinion is just all show for the cameras, some, may think it ridiculous a bit over the top maybe, yet cant take away from him the work he has done over the years [IMG]

Thats right Rosa. From what my friends have told me he has done an awful lot of good work,in fact there was one of his programmes on last night on Sky,though I was channel hopping at the time.

Still a tragic waste of life.My sympathies are towards his wife and children who are left behind
