You know when you're bored and all sorts of silly thoughts come from nowhere? (or is it just me), well last night I decided to put 118 to the test. Here's the text exchange, you might find it mildly entertaining, I did:

Me: What is the difference between a crocodile and an alligator?
118: Alligator is slightly bigger than crocodile but croc's snout is bigger and narrower. Can see a croc's enlarged, lower teeth even when its mouth closed.
Me: Which is known for the 'death roll', a crocodile or an alligator?
118: Both. A death roll is a common type of oscillation while running downward. (make sense of that if you can)
Me: If a crocodile and an alligator had a race, who would be most likely to win?
118: It would be crocodile. Crocodile can usually move faster than alligator.
Me: If a hungry crocodile managed to creep up on me and I spotted it when it was 10 feet away, we are on firm flat ground, would I be able to run away before it got me?
118: Yes. The land speed record for a crocodile is 17 kph (10.6 mph)
Me: An old farmer once told me that you should never enter a field with livestock in it without carrying a stick, as any animal can be unpredictable, but they all have an instinctive fear of a man waving a stick. Would that technique work if the field was full of crocodiles?
118:No. We think it is only applicable for poultry animals, crocodiles are very dangerous to humans.
Me: Thanks for the very entertaining if not useless info:)
118: You are very much welcome. Try texting us again for another query you having in mind. Thx.

So there it is, everything you'll ever need to know about crocodiles:)

:) :) That's good. I always have texts left over at the end of the month which I lose, so now you've given me an idea!! They don't cost though do they, being to 118? not spending any money doing it, lol.

You must have given them a laugh too.

    cheers

I think it costs about 70p, but I think once you've texted them once, the rest that day are free (at least I hope that's the case, I haven't checked my bill yet:) ).
