I have grown Suttons Summer Cauliflower "Snowball A"

I think this is the same as "Early Snowball" from other suppliers

The florets have started opening very soon after the heads were ready - which is a bit of a disappointment. (Its an open-headed variety, and I have read that I should break a leaf off / bend one to cover the head, but I thought that was to maintain colour, rather than slow opening?

The brassica bed was rotavated this spring (forgot! sorry!) but I did tread it down well. The Summer Sprouting Brocolli has gone from florets to flowers very quickly too ... so that may have something to do with it.

But my perception is that first-to-last harvest on my Cauliflower "Snowball A" is only 2 - 3 weeks. I can't speak for later cropping Cauliflowers - yet :)

My Candid Charm F1 have leaves growing like a Hispy Cabbage, so I think its designed to be self-covering :thumb: ... but no head yet, so I'll see.
