Thought some of you might like to see a few holiday snaps of our cruise to Norway. We were celebrating the OH's 50th birthday, which occured midway through the week.

If you ever get the opportunity to do this cruise - go for it! The scenery is breathtaking, the cities we visited beautiful and as for the food and service on the ship...put it this way, I've put on 4 kilos of weight in a week!!

The first two are of Bergen. The last three of the village we docked at in the Sojnefjord, at 130 miles, the longest fjord in Norway.

More! Still the Sojnefjord, except the last one, which is Farsund. The light was amazing - being this far north meant the sunset wasn't until 10pm.

As a gardener, I also noticed their plants are not as developed as mine are in balmy south England. I also made the mistake of mentioning that the daffs hadn't bloomed properly yet, who then went on to point out every daff blooming that we saw!!

    :) Hiya Aaron

What lovely pictures ... it is really quite breathtaking. Thanks for allowing us on the cruise with you. We all have the benefit of lots of holidays without leaving our chairs .... :hehe:

As you know, we were away last week also celebrating my birthday/our anniversary on the 29th ... were we celebrating on the same day I wonder? My pics are up in Members Gallery, Castles in the Air.

    Hiya Vicky :)

We were celebrating on the 28th so close enough :) We're already planning the next cruise - hopefully OH's parents will take us away as they also love cruising!

Aaron, thanks for sharing those pics. We go on a cruise later this year, "Crimean Discovery". Never been on a cruise before and not sure if it's for us, we'll see. However, one place, or region I'd like to try is Scandinavia, I'm just a sucker when it comes to mountains and such :) Show me a beach, and I'll show you a yawn :D Cheers...freddy.

Freddy, we were in the same boat (boom boom!!). This was our first, never been on a cruise, not sure if we'd enjoy it. All I can say is - we had a wonderful time. I think you'll love it - I'd love to see the Crimea from the sea.

Cruising is the way to travel - the scenery and the world comes to you, at a sedate and leisurely pace:thumb:
